FRITZ! Lab for FRITZ!Smart Gateway

Issue:

The following products and functions are currently not yet supported for Matter controllers:

  • FRITZ!DECT 400 and other switches
  • Consumption display of FRITZ!Smart Energy 200, FRITZ!Smart Energy 210 and FRITZ!Smart Energy 250
  • Automation

Solution:

Support for the above-mentioned points will be submitted step by step in upcoming FRITZ! Lab updates.

Issue:

The FRITZ!OS update fails with the message ‘An unspecified error occurred during the update. (5)“.

Solution:

The specified file is not an update file, but rather the FRITZ.Smart_Gateway-lab-xx-xx-xxxxxx.zip file, for instance, which also contains the lab update file.

Unzip the downloaded ZIP archive before starting the update and select the update file for the lab from the unzipped files (FRITZ.Smart_Gateway-xx.xx-xxxxxx-Lab.image).

Detailed instructions for the lab update are presented under ‘Installation on the FRITZ!Smart Gateway’ on the page from which you downloaded the lab package.

Issue:

Exiting the lab and returning to the official FRITZ!OS

Solution:

Via the FRITZ!Smart Gateway user interface, the lab can be left at any time in order to return to the official release.

For this an additional option is offered for lab versions in the ‘System’ menu under ‘Update’ on the ‘FRITZ!OS File’ tab: ‘Back to official FRITZ!OS’. This takes you back to the official FRITZ!OS. With this feature you can always also securely restore your original settings with the backup file you created before installing the lab version.
