The FRITZ!Box's WLAN LED flashes
The FRITZ!Box's WLAN LED flashes continuously. Wireless devices cannot establish a Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box and one of the following error messages is displayed in the event log of the FRITZ!Box:
- 'The Wi-Fi module was not initialized correctly. Please restart the FRITZ!Box! (#0101)'
- 'The Wi-Fi module was not initialized correctly. Please restart the FRITZ!Box! (#0102)'
- 'The Wi-Fi module was not initialized correctly. Please restart the FRITZ!Box! (#02EA)'
- 'The Wi-Fi module was not initialized correctly. Please restart the FRITZ!Box! (#0E01)'
Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Restarting the FRITZ!Box
- Unplug the FRITZ!Box for 5 minutes.
Note:The FRITZ!Box settings are retained when you unplug it. After you plug the FRITZ!Box in again, it takes about 2 minutes for it to restart. During this time, you cannot access the FRITZ!Box.
2 Using the correct power adapter
Using an unsuitable power adapter is one of the most common causes of error:
- Use a suitable power adapter to plug in your FRITZ!Box.
3 Installing the latest FRITZ!OS
Perform the following steps with another device connected to the FRITZ!Box with a network cable:
Important:If you cannot access the FRITZ!Box with any device, proceed as described in the guide FRITZ!Box user interface cannot be opened.
- Install the latest FRITZ!OS on the FRITZ!Box.
4 Setting Wi-Fi channel settings automatically
- Click on 'Wi-Fi' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click on 'Wi-Fi Channel' in the 'Wi-Fi' menu.
- Enable the option 'Set Wi-Fi channel settings automatically (recommended)'.
- Click on 'Apply' to save the settings. Now Wi-Fi connections to the FRITZ!Box are briefly cleared and then automatically re-established.
